Gansu Jinchuan, a major electrolytic nickel producer in China is to resume operations on 3rd February 2020.
NPI producers in major producing regions including Shandong, Jiangsu, Fujian and Guangdong have all decided to restart no earlier than 9th February 2020, and this includes Xinhai in Shandong and Delong in Jiangsu. The delay in operation of these four provinces is likely to reduce overall national capacity by more than 70% in the short-term. NPI smelters in Liaoning and IM may resume operations on 3rd February 2020 as no formal announcement of delay has been made.
