Guangxi Xinfa has designed alumina capacity of 3 mtpy, comprising six alumina production lines of 500 ktpy capacity each. The company has been running five lines over the past three months, but suspended one line for overhaul in mid-December- meaning four lines are now operational. The company produced 190 kt of alumina in November and its December output is likely to drop to 160 kt.
Guangxi Xinfa produced 2.7 mln of alumina in 2018, with 2019 output expected to drop slightly to 2.5 mln t.
At present, mainstream alumina prices stand at RMB 2,310~2,360/t ex-works in Guangxi.
