10th October: Speaking at the China Mining Conference in Tianjin, Mr. Wang Dongbo, Deputy Chief of the Mineral Resources Department of Chalco revealed that Chalco has postponed commencement of its Boffa bauxite project in Guinea until Q1 2020. Designed with bauxite mining capacity of 12 mtpy, the project was originally scheduled to come online by end-2019.
