The City of Luliang, Shanxi issued a level II (Orange) warning of heavy pollution going forward. According to the notice, industrial producers are required to take measures to cut industrial emissions from September 25 to October 2.
Related regulations applicable to the aluminum industry include:
Alumina:
-) Clinker and calcination processing to cut operations by 50%, by production lines
-) Raw material transport (including fuel gas) by trucks under the ‘National Stage IV Motor Vehicle Pollutant Emission Standard’, is forbidden.
Primary Aluminium:
-) Overall capacity to be cut by 30%, by electrolytic cells
-) Raw material transport (including fuel gas) by trucks under the ‘National Stage IV Motor Vehicle Pollutant Emission Standard’, is forbidden.
Carbon:
-) Roasting process to cut operations by 50%, by amount of flame making system
-) Suspension of all operations at the calcination process
-) Raw material transport (including fuel gas) by trucks under the ‘National Stage IV Motor Vehicle Pollutant Emission Standard’, is forbidden.
