Xing’an Chemicals at Xiaoyi, Shanxi completed maintenance on one of its calcination furnaces (with 1,850 t/day capacity), at the end of August and resumed operation on 5 September. The company, designed with alumina capacity of 3 mtpy, has four calcination furnaces: two 1,350 t/day and two 1,850 t/day. The company is now operating at full capacity.
Xing’an Chemicals produced 2.7 mln t of alumina in 2018 and its total output during the first eight months of 2019 was 1.86 mln t. Its September output is estimated at 230 kt. The company chiefly uses domestic bauxite for alumina refining and currently holds no stocks.
Mainstream alumina prices are standing at RMB 2,550~2,600/t ex-works in Shanxi, the same level as last Friday.
