Designed with 400 ktpy capacity and comprising 308 sets of 500kA electrolytic cells, construction of the SPIC Baiyinhua aluminium smelter began in April 2019. Backed by total investment of RMB 3.5 bln, the project also involves development of an associated thermal power plant with two x 350MW power generators. At present, project development is proceeding smoothly. The smelter is scheduled to come online in mid-2020.
Mainstream aluminium ingot transaction prices were RMB 14,370~14,470/t at Shanghai warehouses this Tuesday, an increase of RMB 30/t on Monday.
