9 September: According to Mr. Pandjaitan, Minister of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs of Indonesia, the Government is now working to accelerate resumption of its ban on bauxite exports. Indonesia first imposed a ban on bauxite exports in 2014.
China Customs: China imported 8.31 mln t of Indonesian bauxite during the first seven months of 2019, up 125.4% y-o-y, accounting for 12.59% of the total imports. China imported 1.32 mln t of Indonesian bauxite in July 2019, up 12.12% m-o-m and up 157.26% y-o-y.
