In a recent speech to the press, Mr. Wen Xianjun, Deputy Chief of the CNIA said that the domestic aluminium industry is facing significant structural changes in its development. Firstly, there has been fundamental change in aluminium demand, with a period of continuous rapid demand growth coming to an end. Secondly, overseas bauxite development projects are underway and expanding. Finally, a new round industrial layout adjustment has begun, represented by China’s alumina capacity relocating to coastal port areas of China and overseas countries – where the bauxite resources are.
